🐃 Canon Ef 24Mm F 1.4 L Ii Usm Review
Canon's EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM (see above) is a firm favourite among DSLR shooters, and the RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM looks set to become a similar hit for Canon's R-series. Rather than try to improve on the optical performance of the EF mount lens which the company felt was pretty spot on, Canon has instead opted to expand the
EF 24mm f/1.4L USM_Overview_Professional wide-angle lens with an ultra-large maximum aperture of f/1.4. This is the first EF lens to employ both a replicated Aspherical lens element to suppress distortion and spherical aberration, and a UD lens element to correct lateral chromatic aberration.
Style: EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Verified Purchase A unique lens that offers both a wide angle focal length (24mm) and very wide aperture (f/1.4). Some might question the usefulness of such a fast lens at this focal length, but for those doing indoor photography (i.e. wedding, event) often you can never get enough natural light and f/1.2-f/2.0 is

Canon offers a couple of competitors in their EF 24mm f/1.4 L II USM and cheaper EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM, both of which just surpass the Zeiss option for overall image quality and sharpness tested on an EOS 5D MKIII. If you desire a maximum aperture, the f/1.4 L nudges out the Zeiss in all categories, with the exception of Chromatic Aberration.
As per exif, it was 14mm, f2.8. 20 seconds, ISO 6400. Taken with 6D ii on a Sirui N2204X CF tripod (no tracker). The thing with lenses - not every lens (even fast ones) is good for astro because of coma. My EF 35mm f2 IS is a very nice sharp fast lens, but the coma is terrible, so it is useless for astro. Hope this helps. Colin
